We are a dad & daughter business - Joe (my dad) and Chantel (me). We serve dumplings using recipes passed all the way down our family tree.
I was born into my dad's Chinese restaurant, and by the age of five he'd trained me to stuff chopsticks into wrappers and serve prawn crackers to customers. The upside of this slave labour was that in Dad's spare time he'd toil away making his favourite food: DUMPLINGS.
Some of my best memories are sneaking into the kitchen to steal a treat, or spending Sundays rolling out dumpling skins while my dad would tell me all about a mystical land called China. My siblings and I would stuff our faces with steaming hot dumplings and I'd be the one polishing off the plates.
While he watched me gobbling dumplings, he'd call me Little Chubby Dumpling... which I never took too well! Looking back, these memories fill me with happiness, love, and mouth-watering dreams of dumplings that my dad still hand-makes for us today. I now understand how lucky I was to grow up like this and want to share these delicious bundles of joy with everyone we meet. I'm bringing Dad's dumplings to the streets of London!
